When you learn something new, will you set any objective for your learning? It does quite normal indeed. For my coaching supervision learning journey, as said that I had no idea about this area and I was just full of question marks in mind with excitement. Without expectation can be a big bonus for learning outcomes.

Today, when I look back, these 2 years, I realize that I’m not pursing a strong and first-rate performance coach with different coaching skills & theories. But just an opposite learning direction. I am trying to unlearn and unblock in my mind to experience what is unlocking and relearning process. I can completely let go and still feel a sense of secure. By changing my habits, beliefs, and some core values, I can tell the fact that we really don’t need to try to acquire more knowledge and skills in order to perform well and present the best imagine. We all can have a significant transformation and growth when we trust the flow, trust our clients, trust the process and trust ourselves.

Firstly, due to this change in my belief, I became more open, more confident and assertive. It furthered my own self-development, where I could explore and see what would happen, as It might be an interesting experience without needing to know the outcome in advance. Exploring the uncertainty with courage, curiosity and wisdom, which in turn enhanced the sensations in my body and mind. At this moment, I go into the beginning relearning stage.

Secondly, my approach to skills and tools was more versatile, as I had no fixed preference, which allowed me to focus on the clients and follow the flow. Because of this attitude, I felt I could leverage my best self, be authentic and sensitive to my clients’ activities.

As Sam stated in Full Spectrum Supervision (Edna M & Jackie A, 2013, page 68) “when hearts really open, there is an astounding equality of person-hood, a welcoming of one into the other, a merging of experiences. Both are students and both are teachers: two people combined as explorers.” There is more presence with active listening, which is good for learning sessions, as well as my being preferable for my clients’ best interests. I actually can learn something new from a client by having a learning partnership with each other. It is enjoyment moment with curiosity and knowing without knowledge.
